Our website address is: https://fiddleheadplayers.ca. We are non-professional theatre enthusiasts who volunteer our time and efforts.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After comment approval, your profile picture is visible publicly in the context of your comment. See Gravatar’s privacy policy here.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid embedding location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download images and extract such data.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These last one year.

Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts cookies; it contains no personal data and is discarded when the browser closes.

Logging in sets cookies to save login info and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days (or two weeks if “Remember Me” is selected). Screen options cookies last one year. Logging out removes login cookies.

Editing or publishing an article saves a cookie with the post ID; it expires after one day and contains no personal data.

Cookies are harmless text files containing information only and cannot harm your computer.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, etc.) which behave as if you visited the other website directly. These websites may collect data, use cookies, embed tracking, and monitor your interactions if logged in.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email. We do not sell or share your data except as explained above regarding embedded content.

How Long We Retain Your Data

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-ups automatically.

Registered users’ personal data is stored in their profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal info (except username). Admins can also manage this information.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an export of your personal data or request its deletion. This excludes data we must keep for legal or security reasons.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
